THE DREAMERS, IMAGINEERS AND DOERS
Organizing Team
Based in Iceland, performance artist Hrefna Lind works across disciplines including physical theatre, performance, dance, video installations, music, sculpture and texts. Her work deals with the edge of everyday life and the beauty of grotesque, myths and deformation. Themes of endurance are explored with the body and space and often she involves and collaborates with different artists in her process.
She is also a physical theatre trainer based on the techniques of Jerzy Grotowski, Viewpoints and Roy Hart voice work. Her ongoing project is a performance art band in New York, Krúnka Smúnk and the Nigels.
Originally from Hawaii, I moved to Iceland in 2014 to live and work as a Fulbright and MTV Networks fellow. Co-created with a community of dreamers and doers, we founded Saga Movement to promote sustainable living and community building through art, music and storytelling. Saga Movement is a network of transformative and creative events in Iceland and the United States focused on building thriving communities that collectively mobilize to build a more just and sustainable world.
I identify as a feminist, artist, activist, storyteller and designer with a furious commitment to the radicals, the marginalized and the dissenters who are creating real solutions to tackle institutionalized oppression, environmental degradation and state violence.
I'm a storyteller, facilitator and community designer at OpenIDEO. We believe in the power of communities, creativity and collaboration to solve our world's toughest problems.
